      Default Recommended laptop

I need help purchasing a laptop. Since im going back to college this coming fall, i need a laptop that way i dont have to bring my desktop and drag it in my car for 6 hrs.

      Price range: $600-800
Processor: Preferably Intel i3.. not too fond of AMD
      Graphics card: NVIDA or ATI

I was looking at Asus or Toshiba~~ Help?
Or at least something that could last me awhile in college.

I bought a Toshiba at best buy for 500$ after taxes. 495 to be exact. Wide screen display 3 gigs of ram, plays CS:S just fine along with other games.

As a pc technician I tend to like Toshiba's better because Toshiba specializes in Laptops, they don't even make desktops. So all there stuff is usually pretty solid and you can be sure that it will last a very long time.

Im not sure whether this site works with your price range, but i HIGHLY reccomend http://www.powernotebooks.com/
If you check around they are one of the highest rated notebook vendors on the web, certified by the BBB, etc.

All their prices are also very competitive for gaming laptops, but i think that most of their machines are around 800 and up

My last laptop was from them and i can attest that their customer service is excellent.

also if that site is too expensive i agree with chance, toshiba would be the first place i would look if i was buying a laptop in-between a netbook and gaming 'top

although one thing you might want to consider is buying a netbook and a desktop for the same price as a gaming laptop. Thats what i switched to recently and i can tell you that you bring your laptop alot more places when it weighs 2.5 pounds as opposed to 8 or 9
